Change log

Reefonomics V 2.0 live in the production environment for Office of Great Barrier Reef and World Heritage testing before inviting other users. The new version reflects a large body of work conducted over the previous six months. The classic and new versions will remain live for some time to allow access to historical scenarios.

New prioritisation approach

The ‘configure actions’ step in setting up a scenario now allows the consideration of 18 alternative factors (plus weighting of those factors) to create a prioritised order of investment. The prioritisation factors includes 10 ways to consider the water quality effectiveness, including the response time, the spatial distribution of pollution generation and industries. The prioritisation also allows consideration of likely levels of adoption, confidence in prediction, and economies of scale of industries. The prioritisation also allows the consideration of co-benefits.

Action update

A new default master action library (V29) has been added. This Action library includes a revision of Sugarcane nutrient and soil management practices to allow the simultaneous consideration of both nutrient management and soil management Actions in the same scenario. The number of gully and streambank Actions has been revised down to limit actions to streams and gullies of different sizes (small, medium and large) according to the likely application of the Actions.

Stream and gully load update

The relative sediment generation rates from small and large gullies and streams has been revised. They were previously a factor of 10 different from the medium gully or stream. The revised load generation is a factor of 2.

– fix new actions appearing as disabled in scenarios that updated their action library
– added the ability to handle point based actions
– fix actions not being disabled upon exiting and opening the scenario again
– hide update action library button in scenario edit, if no update is available
– fix secondary pollutant not appearing, even if data is available when editing an action
– added more default values to new actions, allowing them to be saved with minimal data entry
– added table sorting to actions within action libraries
– adoption survey now comes pre-filled with middle values for new actions
– increase time until peak adoption override value increased from 15 to 30 years
– removed featured column from scenario library table
– disabled scenario run button if there are no changes to be saved in scenario edit
– added loading components for user feedback to long running tasks
– fixed creation of new actions where all properties of new actions where not being saved
– restricted users from adding the same pollutant as primary and secondary when editing actions
– fixed per location attributes reverting any change a user makes to them when editing an action
– added appropriate minimum and maximum allowed amounts for pollutant efficacy
– added toast notifications for better user feedback
– added warning when user tries to delete resources, such as actions and scenarios
– restyled manage account interface
– lazy load group members in the background for all groups a user has access to when browsing the manage account interface
– disabled land types if action uses a point geometry

Updated the adoption survey formula for Questions 18 and 20 so that the computation reflects the interface selection. Previously, the calculation assumed equal time steps between responses, the revised method has time responses as 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 years.

Updated the adoption survey responses in all actions and recalculated to apply updated computational method

Removed Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) upgrade Actions from the Master Action Library due to errors occurring with point based Actions. STPs will be returned to the Action Library once the point based action computational issues are resolved.
